Robotics - Advanced Level

Description

This course is a progression from using an Arduino in earlier courses to using a single-board computer running Linux: the Raspberry Pi. Here students learn how to integrate and use advanced sensors such as cameras in order to make a small IoT device.

Learning outcomes:

By the end of this course, students will:

  • Be able to use single board computers (e.g Raspberry Pi)
  • Use various sensors and hardware with single board computers
  • Implement a sufficiently complex IoT project independently

      1. Comparison of 8 bit microcontrollers (Arduino) and 32 bit single board computers
      2. Overview of Raspberry Pi
      3. Raspberry Pi Ports
      4. Installing Raspian OS
      5. Navigating in Raspbian

Using a camera with Raspberry Pi

Using GPIO ports of the Raspberry Pi to control motors
